Europe

The following photos were taken on our holiday in 2005. Departing from Hull, England, via the Channel Tunnel we travelled to Menton in the South of France, through Pisa, Venice, Lake Garda (all Italy), upto Leukerbad in Switzerland before returning to France for a day in Paris on the way home. A 3000 mile round trip.

With the exception of the last few days in Leukerbad and Paris, our accomadation was our tent - turning up on spec at various campsites throughout Europe. We didn't once get turned away.

I'd only had the DSLR camera for a week when we'd departed, so as a result these photos were taken using one of the cameras programmed macros and stored as JPEGS.

Menton, France

The first stopping point on our travels.

After twenty odd hours of driving and 4 hours sleep (in a car park at an autoroute service station) we arrived in Menton, neighbouring resort of Monaco in the south of France.

We spent four days here before moving onto....

Pisa, Italy

Pisa was the next stopping point. We didn't actually plan to go as far south as Pisa, however we didn't find a coastal resort that we liked the look of - so we kept on going.

Venice, Italy

We may have only spent one day in Venice itself, but we made the most of it (we have the credit card bill to prove it).

Somewhere that everybody should visit at least once, and no, it didn't smell!

Lake Garda, Italy

Camping at southern end of the lake, we took time to visit Simrmione and Mount Baldo.

Coming Soon - Leukerbad, Switzerland

Reaching the end of our holiday, our last few days were spent in the largest natural spa resort in Europe, Leukerbad, situated at over 1400 metres above sea level in the Swiss alps
