Torre pendente di Pisa

Tue, 2nd August 2005

Construction of the tower started in 12 centuary, but was abandoned for a centuary after the tower acquired a tilt before the third floor was completed. Legend has it that Galileo dropped two cannonballs from the tower to demonstrate their descending speed was independent of their mass, however this legend is widely regarded to be untrue.

Another shot that has been touched up in photoshop, again dropping the color out of the sky, but then whacking up the saturation on the tower and statue to give the stark contrast to the sky.
